Build and fine-tune the foundation of your strength training in this 8-week workshop & workout series. Harness the power of your breath, mindful movement, and your body’s unique design and anatomy to train smarter and stay injury-free. Walk away from every workout feeling energized, not exhausted—stronger today, and ready to keep crushing it for years to come.

STRUCTURE OF 8-WEEK SERIES:

  •   75-minute sessions that meet 2x/week

    •    15-20 minute focused learning session breaking down a movement principle like core anatomy, hip hinges, squats, foot mechanics, shoulder and thoracic spine mechanics, mobility, tendon health, fascia, and breath's role in training

    •    55-60 minute workout that follows an 8-week progressive training program, with specific emphasis on what we go over in the learning session

    •    Very small group, allowing for a more tailored, 1:1 approach to your workout hour with Maggie 

If you want to build or rebuild a firm foundation for safe movement in your workouts, and you’re curious to learn more about your body’s mechanics and anatomy, this is a series for you!

DETAILED SERIES BREAKDOWN:

    •    Week 1: The core of everything - breath, core anatomy, how to properly activate your core

    •    Week 2: Feet, knees and hips - we'll learn various types of squats to find the one that works best for you, and learn how the feet play an integral role in movement mechanics

    •    Week 3: Hips, hips and more hips - perfect your hip hinge, deadlift with confidence

    •    Week 4: Upper body strength & movement focus - learn how to avoid neck and shoulder pain

    •    Week 5: Mobility focus - learn what "mobility" means, why it matters and how to add mobility into your strength training

    •    Week 6: Joint and tendon health focus - gain confidence moving your body dynamically through a special focus on plyometrics and strengthening tendons, not just muscles

    •    Week 7: What connects it all - learn the properties of fascia, how it relates to muscles, bones, joints and tendons, and how to work with this system to get more out of your warm-ups, training, down-regulation and recovery

    •    Week 8: It all comes back to breath - how to use breath as a mindfulness practice within your workouts to help you adapt movements to meet your specific anatomical needs

MORE ABOUT MAGGIE:

As both a coach and a yoga teacher with a fascination with all things human movement and brain & body connection, I've learned over a decade of teaching how beautifully complex and interesting the human body is. The more I learn, the more I know there is to learn. And I love being a student, learning through trying things on for myself. And I've found that when I apply concepts we focus on during a yoga class - like mindfulness, intentionality, and breath - to my strength workouts, I get SO much more out of each and every workout. The workout itself becomes an exploration, something to look forward to, not just get through. It becomes a practice of deep listening and understanding more about my body and what I need. It is incredibly empowering.

I aim to provide tools, structure, and a way of thinking about your strength training that will help you think critically for yourself and find that same kind of empowerment in your own movement journey. This leads to injury prevention, performance enhancement, and (hopefully) even a joy in the process that supersedes any outcome. (Don't worry, the knowledge you'll gain will also help you reach your goals faster and more safely, too!)
